Overview

The Bachelor of Architecture program is designed to produce professional Architects. The program provides students with sound conceptual foundation an practical skills in architecture. It is a five-year program spread over tent semesters. A student needs to successful complete 150 credit hours of course work, project work and thesis for graduation.

This course is an introduction to the context and practice of architectural engineering. It explores the relationship between the disciplines of architecture and engineering and their differing understanding of what is meant by “design”. The course is structured as an integrated, problem-based learning course wherein students demonstrate their increasing knowledge and skills through the longitudinal development of two main projects; one architectural, one engineering. The course provides foundational knowledge, skills and understanding in the areas of:

  1. design process (architectural and engineering)
  2. structure
  3. optimization (capacity vs demand)
  4. construction materials and detailing
  5. the construction process

Eligibility

Interested candidate should meet the eligibility criteria laid down for the enrollment in B.E. programs. One should have passed I. Sc. / 10 +2 Sc. ( including Bio group with 100 marks or 3 credit hour weightage in mathematics) or Diploma in Engineering (degree in related program is preferred) with at least in 2nd division or any other recognized certificate/diploma considered equivalent to above examinations and recognized by PU.

Objectives

Objectives of Bachelor of Architecture

  • The fundamental targets of this course is to structure the researchers in such a way that they will meet the global principles of architecture.
  • This course also includes site visits, field adventures, and introduction to new techniques to solve issues of the related field.
  • A full semester serves to compose the researchers with a lot of skills of solving and analyzing work before graduation.
  • Theoretical and practical teaching style will enhance their thinking, on the spot problem solving skills in their projects, plans and research.
